1. Be clear at the target for the day. Let your target be realistic, well defined and achievable in a day. There is no point in putting “to learn Spanish” in your Day Plan.
  2. Break the tasks into small chunks with time specifications. Moreover try to make the plan before retiring to bed on the previous night.
  3. Have a glance at your plan as the first thing in the morning and collect the resources to finish the tasks.
  4. Have enough space to accommodate unforeseen occurrences into your Plan. Not everything will go according to your plan.
  5. Prioritize the task and try to finish them at the optimum best time of your day.
  6. Have a follow-up by night and decide as to what should happen the unfinished tasks. Also, make a note of why you were not able to finish the tasks in the first hand.
  7. When you do this exercise continuously for a few months, you will notice that your productivity has increased multifold.
  8. Remember, you will most time take a detour from the plan. Do not lose heart. Come back to the Plan again. If you did not make a plan today, start over again.
  9. Also end sure that your Day Plan is the roadmap to your long term plans and your day targets take you towards your long term targets.
